MERG Cafe

Came for brunch, but pesto pastas and fish and chip were already OOS at 11am. We ordered spicy creamy linguine with grilled chicken, chicken chop and egg avo dough. Came in big portion and tasted good. Coffee, however, specifically the death by black was a little let down as it was too smoky and dark roast to my personal liking. There’s a cute elevator that takes you to the cafe on 1st floor.

A nice place to have a quiet and tasty meal. My wife and I enjoyed the salad, which was refreshing. Citrussy dressing was actually freshly squeezed orange juice..For the mains, i had roast chicken with penne and my wife had mushroom & egg toast. Both were delicious. Coffee and lemonade were great too. Service was very attentive, and premises clean.

July & August 2024 What a pleasant surprise, we thought, on our first visit to MERG Cafe. With our 2nd visit, we easily say it's a delightful little cafe serving good food and drinks. The lemonade is one of the nicest we have had. Light, refreshing, not overly sweet with enough freshly squeezed lemon juice. The eggs that came with our kaya and toast, were good quality, fresh and nicely cooked to half-boil. We were happy with the fish and chips, and the aglio olio. Talapia is not exactly our fish of choice but we must say - the chef did a great job here. The pasta was another happy surprise. Cooked al-dente, the aglio olio was well balanced and spicy enough to satisfy our Malaysian palettes. Real beef bacon!!! Nice The young man at the counter assured us, "We do not serve precooked food here." And that is true. The coffee is also good. P.S. - service is a tad slow

Located on a second floor of a tiny neighbourhood shophouse, going up using the tiny lift was a pleasant experience, and the decor and music was actually amazing bringing the comfort and welcome feeling. We got served by good flat white and house tea. Good experience

2nd visits...... Cafe located on the 1st floor with good vibes. Cosy n great ambiences.... Relaxing music... Friendly owner A great place to hang out n catch up with friends. Coffee n cake are very nice. Recommended.... Will return to try the pasta.

Atmosphere is very nice - simple, white, surrounded by plants. I ordered their pesto linguine with chicken chop, and the portion was very generous. The toasted almond slivers also added a nice texture contrast. Coffee was nice, and staff were friendly. I was a bit disappointed by the cake selection that day, but the meal was very satisfying. You have to enter through a small lift - no stairs. They have two parking spots in front, one of them providing EV charging.
